Written step

Four questions. 350 to 500 words. Within 72 hours.

We are looking for clear, concrete answers. This step helps us understand how you notice children, hold a frame, and reflect on your own practice.

1 Observation

Describe a concrete situation in which a child hesitated, resisted, or blocked in response to an instruction. Include the context: location, type of setting, approximate date. What did you observe in their posture, pace, attention, or language? What did you do? What happened next? Describe what you saw, not what you interpreted.

2 End of activity

A six-year-old refuses to put away their materials at the end of an activity. The other children are waiting. What do you do, concretely? First move, then the next.

3 Error and repair

Describe an error you made with a child or a group. Include the context. What happened? How did you repair it, or attempt to? What did you learn about yourself through this error, beyond what you learned about the child?

4 Reading the role

Re-reading the role description, what attracts you most? What raises a question or concern for you, if anything does?
