The Embreier Arc

Move · Pause · Make · Belong

Embreier's method draws on developmental psychology, the neurobiology of habit formation in children, and international education frameworks shaping future skills.

The Embreier Method

  • This sequence aligns with how regulation, attention, and social intelligence develop.

In Move, children learn to regulate their energy and return to a steady state.
In Pause, they build awareness of their internal state and transition with greater ease.
In Make, they strengthen attention, problem-solving, and the ability to stay with challenge, while developing a sense of agency.
In Belong, they deepen connection, reflect on their experience, and understand their impact on others.

The sequence remains consistent while the activities change. This consistency allows patterns to stabilise and habits to form.

  • Within this structure, the educator holds two positions: the adult who observes with psychological precision and meets the child with caring empathy, and the equal participant who can step into any scenario and show a better way. The way that leaves everyone happier: the joy of sharing, the contentment of teaching a trick to a younger peer and bringing them in.

Children develop not through being told, but through lived interactions. Until returning to calm, staying with something hard, or working it out with a friend becomes just how they are.

Move Mouvement

REGULATION RÉGULATION

They arrive with the day still in their body. They move, and something clears. However they come in, they learn they can shift how they feel.

Pause Pause

INTEROCEPTION INTÉROCEPTION

They slow down. They breathe more deeply. Between activities, they prepare the space together. Over time, they learn to prepare themselves. Ils ralentissent.

Make Création

EMBODIED COGNITION COGNITION INCARNÉE

They work with their hands, mind engaged. Something to make, to organise, to figure out. They stay with it until it’s done, or done enough.

Belong Appartenance

SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT ENGAGEMENT SOCIAL

They share. They listen. They try to understand. They recognise each other, and feel recognised. With parents sometimes present, it extends beyond the session. Ils partagent.

What Builds,
Week by Week

1. Body regulation

They return to calm more quickly. After frustration, you see the shift. At the end of a long day, they come back to themselves with more ease.

2. Emotional steadiness

They begin to find their own way back, in more than one way.

3. Creative agency

They stay with what they start. When something needs another go, they begin again with pride. What they choose, they feel proud of.

4. Social intelligence

They listen to understand, and share to contribute. They relate in the group with ease, creating connection that supports both themselves and others.

Educator Standards

Many of our educators are trained at leading Swiss institutions such as EPFL and UNIL.

  • Our Embreier educators are local to each country. In Switzerland, they hold Master’s-level training in psychology, early education, and related fields, and speak both French and English fluently.

  • They observe before intervening and guide by demonstrating the prosocial and steady way.

Selected from leading universities for both training and empathy, each educator completes mandatory co-teaching hours before leading sessions and joins regular team assemblies to share observations and grow together. Our team embodies the Embreier philosophy: children and adults grow in reciprocity.

  • Every week, your educator shares a private observation on your child’s growth. A small window into the way they are finding calm, building confidence, and meeting the world.

Educators are available after each session for questions.

  • The childhood years are a powerful window for shaping emotional regulation, executive function, and prosocial behaviour. When children practise these capacities consistently, in the same trusted environment, they begin to shape how the child responds, relates, and grows.

Embreier is currently developing its research pathway with academic partners in the Canton of Vaud, with the aim of better understanding how consistent environments support children’s development over time.
